Last Tuesday night, Jan. 12, Klickitat County Sheriff Bob Songer thanked the Klickitat County Search and Rescue (KCSAR) volunteers at the annual appreciation dinner in Goldendale.

Songer and KCSAR Coordinator Jeff King praised the volunteers for their dedication and commitment, noting that the volunteers' level of training made them specialists that lifted an enormous workload from the Sheriff's Office and deputies. In 2015 the Klickitat County SAR volunteers responded to 19 missions that involved over 600 volunteer hours. They donated a total of 2,580 volunteer hours, including training and public relations events. Songer pledged his continued support for the Search & Rescue Unit.
