Low power radio gives progress report


Goldendale Community Radio has been on air for five months. During the two years leading up to the local low power FM station’s first on-air broadcast, organizers discovered a tight-knit community of public radio stations willing to help. KVGD-LP credits KZAS in Mill City for technical and engineering advice, and KZAS (Radio Tierra) in Hood River for a loan of equipment that was indispensable in the effort to “go live.”

Recently, KVGD-LP received a note from Ken Cartwright, KYAC Community Radio Program Director, inquiring about Goldendale Community Radio station’s progress to date.
