Senior players lead Lady Cougars to Regionals in final year as a 1B team

RECORD SETTER: Lacy Carse showed why she is on the All Opponents team, hitting 10 of 14 three-point shots, a school record at Lyle-Wishram. Her 33 points led the Cougars to a win and Regional playoff berth.

The Lyle-Wishram girls are headed to the Regional round of the State playoffs after demolishing Yakama Nation 73-56 in the semi-final game of the District tournament last week. Lacy Carse couldn't miss and MaeLynn Luke was a blur as she ran end to end to bury the lady Eagles. It didn't go quite as well in the championship game against Sunnyside Christian, who won 70-37, but the win by the Cougars after three straight losses to the Eagles this year, was sweet enough.

The first quarter was a blitz attack fueled by Luke who made clean picks and flew down court for layins. Carse hit a couple of three-point shots and the first quarter ended 21-8 with expectations of an Eagle rally. But, it was...
