Telephone complaints get the most complaints


In 2015, customers of landline telephone companies filed more complaints with Washington State’s Utilities and Transportation Commission than any other regulated industry, with energy companies following close behind.

In its annual analysis of consumer complaints, the UTC found more than half of the 1,407 complaints it opened in 2015 were against regulated telephone companies, with energy companies a close second.

Regulated companies issued more than $141,000 in bill credits and refunds to customers as a result of complaints filed in 2015.
