To the Editor:

The proposed West Columbus improvement project will be a great event in the history of Goldendale, and undoubtedly will improve the neighborhoods and the image of the town sought by city hall. The current city administration works hard and long for the benefit of everyone. They are transparent and trustworthy and work well together; we can all call them friends.

With that said, I’m concerned about the removal of three Douglas fir trees and a cedar on the corner of Grant and Allyn Streets. A knowledgeable friend of mine thinks the biggest fir tree (approximately 10.5 feet in circumference and 5 feet in diameter) might be as old as 200 years. That means it could have been s...
