Record runs at 2015 State meet promises a great new season for area track and field


It is always important to finish a season on a strong note, and setting a personal record (PR) at the State track and field meet is about as good as it gets. Ten area athletes did just that, last year and no one closed out the season any stronger than Nathan Powers and Kira Harvey, of Bickleton.

Powers gets the nod because he had a PR 41.83 seconds in the 300 hurdles which was also the winning time. He didn’t PR in the 110 meter hurdles, but he didn’t need to, as he also won that event. Powers tied for first place at 6-feet, 2-inches in the high jump, but lost on more misses. His PR is 6-4, which came at the District meet. Powers is a senior this year.
