Lyle woman strikes State Patrol vehicle


A Lyle woman was injured in a car wreck outside Wapato that the State Patrol says she caused.

According to the report, a Yakama Nation Tribal police vehicle and Washington State Patrol vehicle were parked on the shoulder, southbound on SR97 at 10 p.m. on March 19, when a car driven by Kristina R. Sampson, 45, of Lyle struck the rear of the State Patrol vehicle, pushing it into the Tribal car. The officers were conducting a vehicle stop at the time and were not injured.

Sampson was transported from the scene to Yakima Regional hospital with unspecified injuries. She was charged with DUI, according to the report.
