Edwin Preston Leverich

In his early years, Ed was a sharpshooter in the Army. After that, he began a career in Marine Construction. Everything from log towing, tug boat captain, and working on the Fremont bridge. On the water, he was given the nickname "Mother Goose" because of his love for birds.

He is survived by his loving wife Judi. He was her rock and best friend. His is also survived by his siblings: Jim Leverich, John Leverich, Archie Leverich, Mary Lou Kirchem.

Ed was active in several AA chapters in both Goldendale and Vancouver. He served at a sponsor for several decades. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it! Since retiring, Ed picked up serveral hobbies such as: goldmining, woodworking, fishing, painting and playing cards.

Ed had three children: Cari Haynes of Scappose; Bob and Angel Leverich of Manteca, Calif .; and Jim Leverich of Seattle. Ed had nine grandchildren: Kenneth, Kenna, Billie Jo, D'Anna, Natiana, Savannah, Benjamin, Kyle and Jenna and six great grandchildren. He also had children in his life that he loved as his own: Sonya Chaychuk of Vancouver; Cathie Yadell; and Don Crawford.

He loved a hot cup of coffee and a good game of cribbage!

Services for Ed will be held on Thursday, March 31, at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd in Portland at 12:30 p.m. Reception following.
