Knights pound out pair of wins over Lady Timberwolves in season opener

Finding the bright side of games lost by 10 run rule can be difficult, but there were plenty of things Coach Stephen McCandless could be happy with on Saturday. The team lost both ends of a double header to Royal 15-1 and 15-5, but it was a good introduction to softball for some of the young players and the pitching and catching were solid.

Royal piled up their runs with ground balls in the gaps and line drive singles in the first game, scoring 10 runs before Goldendale's girls got the kinks out. Erin Waibel led off the bottom of the fifth inning with a walk and went around to score the only Goldendale run of the game. Shania Henderson reached base in all three of her at-bats and Kinnedy...
