Wolves hold court over SCAC East teams, win three and tie one

IN CONTROL: Alden Bothamley returns a shot against Wahluke in doubles action. Bothamley and his partner Spencer Ricks won the match 6-1, 6-1.

It is hard to have a better start to a season than the one Goldendale's tennis team had on Saturday. They took on Wahluke and Royal in Goldendale and didn't lose a match on the court. The only wins for the opponents came on two forfeit wins by Wahluke's boys in singles and doubles as they eked out a 2-2 draw. Goldendale's girls won all nine matches played plus a forfeit for a pair of 5-0 wins. Goldendale's boys beat Royal 2-0.

Jairus Christensen blitzed Wahluke's Kevin Gomez 6-0, 6-0, then had to work for a 6-2, 7-5 win over Royal's Anthony Hebdon. The other wins for Goldendale's boys were Spencer Ricks' 6-0, 6-0 singles victory over Miguel Castaneda, of Royal, and the pairs win of Ricks...
