Lady Wolves get into win column with sweep over LWK

RUN DOWN: Lyle-Wishram/Klickitat's Amber Thompkins was tagged out at home when caught in a run down by Goldendale catcher Shania Henderson.

Goldendale's sweep of a double-header over Lyle-Wishram/Klickitat on Friday was a good study of two young teams working out their line-ups early in the season. It was an important win for the Lady Timberwolves since it was their first of the year, assuaging those internal questions, "Will we ever win?"

There were indications that Goldendale would be just fine this year. The team couldn't hit in their opening two games against Royal, and while the bats got going last week against White Swan, fielding was a challenge. One thing that has been solid is that their pitchers, Kailey Garrigus and Nadia Mitchell have been throwing strikes and their catcher Shania Henderson can catch.
