Lawmakers end special session after adopting supplemental budget


Lawmakers wrapped up their 20-day special session Tuesday evening with passage of a supplemental budget. The final agreement preserved the four-year balanced budget requirement and included no new taxes. The budget was, as Gov. Inslee said in a statement, a typical supplemental budget, “largely about modest adjustments and updates to the two-year budget.”

Those expecting larger policy changes, including substantial increases in education funding, were disappointed. Some wondered why it took so long to do so little.
