Cougars sweep Dufur, are 6-2 on year

CLOSE PLAY: Mason Goolsby tries to come home on a wild pitch against Dufur. Goolsby, of Lyle-Wishram was out on the play, but the Cougars went on to win the game.

Late inning heroics helped Lyle-Wishram/Klickitat pull out a sweep over Dufur in Lyle, 7-6 and 12-11, last Friday. Kurtis Billette's seventh inning bases loaded single to right field produced the unlikely game two win. Dufur had jumped to a 6-2 lead after two innings and Coach Doug Carlock substituted freely before the team batted around in the sixth inning to tie the game at 9-9. Dufur shook it off and scored two unearned runs in the seventh before Billette put an end to the game.

The big inning for the Cougars in game one came in the fifth when Riley Mills scored his second run of the game following a Thomas Carlock single to put LWK on top 7-5. Zach Miller held the Rangers to six runs...
