Nancy L. Shrader

Nancy L. Shrader

Nancy L. Shrader was born April 27, 1936 in Nampa, Idaho (an only child) to Goldie L (Johnston) and Myron M Miller. Her father had a variety of careers, so the family moved quite a bit from the family's home in Idaho to Torrance, California to Medford, Oregon before finally settling in Harbor, Oregon where she graduated from high school in 1954.

Nancy met her husband of 50 years, Guy A Shrader, when he offered her a ride when she was walking home one day. They were married October 12, 1954 in Reno, Nevada before making their home in Harbor, Oregon. They quickly had three daughters and Nancy became a home engineer.

Guy's work took them from Brookings, Oregon in 1962 to Oroville, California to Goldendale, Washington in 1968 where Nancy finally got to put down her roots. Her passions included horses (she was an avid horse person and trainer), her dogs, cats, gardening, wildlife, phone calls to friends, and her daughters whom she is survived by. Cindy Shaw and husband Howard of Dallesport, Washington; Coreen Shrader of Hillsboro, Oregon; Kim McCoy and husband Lester of The Woodlands, Texas. Grandchildren, Ryan McCoy, Destin Fisher, Leslie VanSickle, Jeff Shaw, Amy Shaw and Adam Shaw. Great grandchildren, Lily McCoy, Nathan McCoy, Katie Silbernagle, Ashley Munsen, Casey Slavens, McKenzie Shaw, Braden VanSickle, Isabelle Shaw, Daisy Clemans, Kyler Shaw and AJ Shaw. And cousins she enjoyed keeping in touch with.

She passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Providence St Vincents Hospital in Portland, Oregon with her favorite daughters at her side.
