Technology grant awarded to middle school teachers and GMS

Citing the need to improve access to technology that can help teach student collaboration on science projects, Tamara Johnson and Sherelle Wanderscheid submitted a grant to CenturyLink for the purchase of 10 iPads.

Last week, the two sixth grade teachers received a check for $4,999 from CenturyLink's Chris LaGrange.

Johnson and Wanderscheid teach in adjacent rooms facilitating the sharing of the iPads. In their application, the teachers indicated that the iPads would help students research science projects and put together mulitmedia presentations in the classroom. Documentation and presentation of experimental findings is one of the core standards for students in Washington state.
