Cut politicians' wages, not trees

To the Editor:

“Appalling” is the only word suitable for the cutting down of what little shade trees that are left in the city of Goldendale. All for the love of a new sewer system?

Has anyone ever considered how desertification starts in the first place? Trees are aquifers. Sewer lines can be replaced elsewhere; 75+/- year old trees cannot, even in our lifetime!

Cutting down shade trees to save a dime, should start with cutting local politicians’ wages.

Not having a public opinion and response time is appalling.
