Gold for Golding and 10th place finish for Wolves at State

Rewarding: Brian Golding was the runaway winner of the 300 meter hurdles at State. It was Golding's fourth trip to State and his first win.

Brian Golding finally got his gold medal for hurdling at this year's track and field State meet in Cheney. Golding, who has been among the premiere hurdlers in the state for most of his high school career, went to State this year owning five State medals for the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles, but had no gold.

He and Royal's Joe Lang were the best in the 110 meter hurdles all year long. Both had PRs of 14.92 in the event prior to their showdown at Districts where they ran a dead heat in 14.80 with Golding getting the win.
