Chamber building edging toward completion



FINALLY TAKING SHAPE: After months of sitting unattended, the Chamber of Commerce building is inching closer to being used again. In this picture from last week, adjustments were made to the front of the edifice.

Tons of leftover construction rubble was cleaned up and hauled away and a broken water main was repaired by Chamber volunteers last weekend at the Chamber Building on Broadway.

The building now has running water, heat, and electricity, but there are a few items left on the list. "It's time to wrap this up and get moved back in," says Rick Lundin, President of the Greater Goldendale area Chamber of Commerce. "This building is the face of the Chamber, and though we've had a lot of recent success in promoting local events and businesses, getting the building into move-in condition has been tough.
