Kevin and Mitch Anderson win local course US Open play day

Goldendale Golf Course held it’s US Open Stroke Play tournament in conjunction with the US Open, Saturday. Nineteen players toughed out a cold, rainy, windy day that reportedly added strokes to the handicaps of the top players.

Winning this year’s Open for gross score was Kevin Anderson, who shot an 89. David Ross was second at 91 and Dick Anderson’s 95 was good enough for third place.

The winner for net score was Mitch Anderson at 80, two strokes ahead of a second place tie between Tim Gorton and Don Anderson.

Players also had a blind draw teaming with the US Open players, resulting in a three-way tie for first place. Mitch Anderson and Brenden Steel (65), Rich Holycross and Dustin Johnson (65) ad Keith Johns and Scott Piercy (65)’
