City expresses support for performing arts center


Last week’s Goldendale city council meeting was held July 5 because of the Fourth of July holiday, and the council heard about danger in the air and passed a resolution of support for an incipient performing arts center.

Doug Herlihy, a resident of Goldendale and a world-renowned aviation expert, brought his wealth of experience with the National Transportation Safety Board and as an expert investigating the causes of plane crashes to the meeting. He told the council that the recent Big Eddy-Knight transmission line that crosses the Columbia has some potentially lethal problems for pilots.
