Cycle tour starts, ends in Goldendale


Bicycle Rides Northwest has announced its 2016 Washington Bicycle Ride, “Grape Vines & Mountain Climbs,” July 16 through July 23. This weeklong, fully supported road bike ride will start and end in Goldendale and will wind through the Yakima Valley, then west into the Cascade Mountains, past Mount St. Helens, then south to the Columbia River before returning to Goldendale. Cyclists will ride through the Gifford-Pinchot National Forest, follow the White Pass Scenic Byway, up to Windy Ridge Observatory, and along the Lewis River and Columbia River. Riders will enjoy amazing views of Mt. Rainier, Mount St. Helens, Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood over the course of the week.
