Tobiah Isreal demonstrates his Basil Pesto.

Tobiah Israel, a board member of the Goldendale Farmers' Market, performed a demonstration last weel on how he makes his Basil Pesto. Here's the recipe:

1 ¼ cups sunflower seeds – finely ground

8 Oz Olive oil

0.8 Oz of Garlic

8 Oz of Basil

3 Tbls Bragg Liquid Aminos

Using a blender, add oil and garlic and blend well. Add basil and continue to add and blend. Put into a bowl and mix in the ground sunflower seeds. It is ready. The dish can be frozen. Parmesan cheese can also be added or sprinkled on top. The Farmers' Market is open this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ekone Park.
