Donna Joyce (Omeg) Sanford


Donna Joyce (Omeg) Sanford flew to Heaven on July 12, 2016 in Bend, Oregon due to complications from advanced Lewy Body Dementia & Parkinson’s Diseases. She was born October 2, 1935 in The Dalles, Oregon, spent her early childhood on High Prairie (Lyle) before her family moved to Yakima. She met and married the love of her life Delmar Sanford while attending Yakima Junior College. She worked as a secretary at Washington State and spent the rest of her life devoted to her husband, family, friends, & God in Pendleton, Albany, Sauvie’s Island, Rock Creek, & Bend, OR. She attended Bend Church of the Nazarene and the First Baptist Church of Bend. She was active in Christian Women’s Group, Women’s Aglow, and many Bible studies. She loved hiking, native wildflowers, fishing, boating, and gardening. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Delmar, their daughter Julie of Beaverton, OR, their son & daughter-in-law Jack & TinaMarie of Port Angeles, WA, 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, her sisters Lora McColley of Iowa & Edith Omeg of California, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Donna’s memorial service will be held Sat., Aug 6 @ 1pm at Bend Church of the Nazarene located at 1270 NE 27th in Bend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Partners in Care Hospice House, 2075 NE Wyatt Ct, Bend, OR.
