Jack Bostick

John I. "Jack" Bostick was born February 21, 1931 in Lamar, Colorado to Bessie (Stevenson) and Duke Allen Bostick. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1950 and graduated from the University of Idaho in 1954 with a Bachelor Degree in Architecture.

During the summers, Jack worked for the U.S. Forest Service while attending the University of Idaho. He started working for the Boeing Company in Seattle in 1954. Mr. Bostick spent 37 years with Boeing in engineering and facilities planning. He worked on many programs including Bomarc, Minuteman, SST, Saturn-Apollo, 757, 747, ALCM, YC-14 and 777. The last 17 years of his career, Jack was Director of Facilities for the Engineering Division of the Boeing Commercial Airplane Company. He retired to Goldendale, Washington in 1991.

Jack married Sandra Phillips in Lewiston, Idaho on July 2, 1955. She passed away July 22, 2004. Mr. Bostick remarried to Alma F. Thaut on October 15, 2005. She also preceded him in death.

Mr. Bostick attended the Centerville Church. He was a member of the Goldendale Senior Center, Centerville Grange, Easy Street Militia, Elks Lodge, De Moines Yacht Club, and Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He loved dogs, hunting and fishing, boating, RVing, gardening and being with his family. Jack did weather observations for the KLCK radio station.

Mr. Bostick passed away in White Salmon, Washington on July 18, 2016 at the age of 85. He is survived by his son Kenneth Bostick of Goldendale and grandson William Jack Bostick.

No memorial services will be held at Jack's request, but those wishing to send condolences to the family may do so by visiting and donations may be made to Heart of Hospice, 2621 Wasco St., Hood River, OR 97031. Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel in Goldendale handled arrangements.
