Kelly welcomes students to newly united school at Lyle

Boynton and his wife Janet are long-time volunteers demonstrating pioneer cooking at Brooks Memorial Park and at the Goldendale Farmer's Market. The Market will be open Saturday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ekone Park off East Broadway (Highway 142).This Saturday music will be provided by The Simcoe Boys. Several Market vendors will also have booths at the County Fair.

The Lyle School District is eagerly anticipating the beginning of the 2016-17 school year, according to school Superintendent Andy Kelly. Focused school improvement efforts yielded tremendous academic gains during 2015-16 and a summer unification effort (consolidating all students under a common roof in Lyle) will not only save the district approximately $300,000. annually, says Kelly. It will "also allow the district to organize their academic programs more efficiently and look for ways to leverage all our assets for the benefit of our children."
