Wolves getting better, can't get 1st win

ON THE ATTACK: A pack of Timberwolves look to advance the ball against the Cle Elum Warriors on Saturday.

The Goldendale High School soccer team couldn't get its first win of the season at home on Saturday against the Cle Elum Warriors, but it continues making strides in the right direction.

The Timberwolves fell 8-1 to the Warriors and trailed 4-0 after the first half but picked up their level of play as the game went on. As head coach Anna DeMott put it during the halftime break, the Wolves always play better in the second half.

And indeed they did on Saturday. After a rough start where the Warriors held possession for the majority of the first half, the Wolves' offense came out stronger after halftime. They controlled the ball more, made better passes and attempted more shots on goal aft...
