Shop Local Chamber event set to return to Goldendale

The Greater Goldendale Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the second annual Shop Local event, a showcase promoting merchants and service providers from the Goldendale area to be held at the Goldendale Grange Hall on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local producers of art, wine, alpaca products, jewelry, farm supplies, business services, and other local businesses have already registered for booth space at the event. Vendors are being encouraged to offer special discounts, samples, presentations, and incentives at Shop Local.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Dana Peck explained the focus of the event: "Last year we saw a great turn out for Shop Local. So, based on feedback, we changed the day to Saturday and extended the hours this year. It's a venue that helps our community learn more about what our great local merchants, farm producers, artists, and service businesses have to offer, both for the holiday season and year-round. Even better, it gives busy community members the chance meet the people who run these businesses face-to-face. Holiday gift buying and shopping for important services doesn't always have to include a trip to Hood River, The Dalles, or Portland."

Booth space at Shop Local is limited. Merchants can register for up to two 3' x 6' booths that include a table, chair, and tablecloth. Wi-Fi is available and a commercial kitchen is on-site for vendors who wish to prepare sample edibles. The booth fee per table is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for all others. Call the Greater Goldendale Area Chamber of Commerce at 773-3400, or visit http://www.goldendalechamber.org to reserve booth space or for more information.
