Gorge Orchestra Association sees expansion in stages


The Columbia Gorge Orchestra Association (CGOA) just keeps growing. After the instrumental changes of adding a jazz ensemble to their repertoire last year, CGOA has now taken a turn for the theatrical.

CGOA has been providing musical entertainment to the Gorge area for about 12 years now. They now offer two to four performances a month, most recently with their first theatre presentation of The Rocky Horror Show, which ran in September.

According to CGOA Conductor and Music Director Mark Steighner, the new Stages Repertory Theatre group went through one week of very intense rehearsal in order to put on the popular musical. The performances were well-received and the requested audience pa...
