Goldendale gridders snap six-game skid


After dropping its first five South Central Athletic Conference West contest, the Goldendale Timberwolves football team was well overdue for its first league win. On Friday at Highland High School, the Goldendale seniors made sure they didn’t finish the season winless in conference play.

Senior running backs Alex Allen and Maverick Frantum each rushed for touchdowns and the Wolves totaled 209 yards on the ground en route to their 12-0 win over the Scotties on Friday.

Goldendale head coach Alan Hale was so impressed by the outputs from his offensive line and ground game that the Wolves spent more time than usual in the film room Monday afternoon reviewing Friday’s success.
