Keith Charles Quigley

Keith Charles Quigley, 79, of Goldendale, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, in The Dalles, Oregon.

Keith was born Sept. 21, 1937, in Eugene, Oregon, of Stanley and Hazel (Duval) Quigley, the youngest of their five children. Keith grew up in the small town of Wendling, and following graduation from Marcola High School, he enlisted in the Army. Stationed at Ft. Lewis as a communications specialist, he attained the rank of corporal.

After his stint in the military, he attended Eugene Bible College in preparation for the pastorate. Keith served as interim pastor in Coburg, Oregon, before attending Linfield College, graduating with an accounting degree.

Keith loved learning, especially math and history, and could often be found with a book in hand.

Keith met his sweetheart, Martha Baden, in August 1975. They were married the following spring, on April 10, 1976. Keith and Martha lived in Eugene several years before moving to Portland, Oregon, in 1990. Then, in 2000 they made their final move to Goldendale.

Church was an important part of Keith's life. His ministries included: serving as church librarian in three different churches over a span of 20 years, sitting on the church council, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, volunteering as a Boy Scout leader and leading AWANA.

He also volunteered for the United Way and worked alongside Martha, for sixteen years, assisting her in Milwaukie and in Goldendale, welcoming newcomers with their The Greeter Baskets.

Keith is survived by Martha, his wife of 40 years; step-daughter, Sharon Bostic, of Portland, Oregon; step-daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Moyer of Bend, Oregon; and step-son, David (Teresa) Eberhardt of Newberg, Oregon.

He is also survived by six grandchildren, Chase Jones, Mackenzie (Christopher) Prew, Connor Jones, Savannah Jones, Blain McElwee and Steven Eberhardt; three great-grandchildren, a sister, Anetta Spickelmier and three sisters-in-law, Betty, Mae and Gwen Quigley; as well as six nephews and two nieces. He was proceeded by his parents and three brothers, Robert, Neil and Marven Quigley.

The memorial service will be held at Community Grace Brethren Church in Goldendale on Friday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. Dr. Greg Howell officiating.

A very special thanks to the caring staff at Flagstone Senior Living in The Dalles, Oregon, for their tender and loving care of Keith during this past year.
