Winter sports practices kick off

The Goldendale High School gym was packed Monday afternoon with winter sports officially kicking off.

Upstairs in the weight room, nearly 25 wrestlers worked on their technique and basic moves with third-year head coach Matt Dumolt and second-year assistant coach Nick Dumolt.

Nick was a multi-sport athlete for the Timberwolves from 2004-08 and took third place in the 171-pound division at the 2008 Class 1A Mat Classic at the Tacoma Dome.

Matt is entering his 14th year with the GHS wrestling program, having served as an assistant for 11 years before taking over the reins in 2014.
