Aggressive Goldendale boys open hoops season at Mabton

This year's edition of the Goldendale Timberwolves won't beat any teams with its size or athleticism, but what third year head coach Ted Wilkins likes most about his group is the team's feistiness and work ethic.

"This group is more aggressive, they're trying to get to the hole which means we'll get some easier buckets," Wilkins said after Monday's practice at the Goldendale High School.

Last season, Wilkins said the Wolves attempted just five free throws a game on average, but this year he wants his team to be able to score more from the easiest spot on the court, right underneath the basket, and that's what the team has been doing well early on throughout the opening weeks of practice....
