Hard travel conditions not over


The holiday travel season isn’t over yet.

With Christmas and New Year’s Day both falling on weekends and colder than usual temperatures—and the highest level of travel on record anticipated this holiday season—travelers are hitting worse than normal conditions. Travel aid agency AAA says it expects to rescue close to 14,000 motorists in Washington and northern Idaho before the end of this weekend.

The primary response for motorist calls include towing, lockout services and battery replacements or boosts. Simple safety tips include checking the condition of batteries and tires before heading out on a road trip, especially as low temperatures continue to sweep the Pacific Northwest....
