Lyle-Wishram boys win 2 in Moses Lake

DRIVING THE LANE: Lyle-Wishram guard Riley Mills gets fouled by a Stevenson defender on Dec. 21. Mills scored a team-best 16 points in the Cougars 44-22 win over Moses Lake Christian Academy on Dec. 27.

The Lyle-Wishram boys basketball team turned in a pair of wins over the weekend at the Moses Lake Christian Academy Winter Tournament.

Against Moses Lake Christian Academy on Dec. 27, the Cougars, according to head coach Josh Padgett, played with a lot of defensive intensity as the team rotated between zone defenses in their 44-22 opening win of the tourney.

Riley Mills, Kurtis Billette and DaSean Leslie combined for 10 steals against MLCA as the Cougars forced over 20 turnovers and held their opponent to around 30 percent shooting.
