Midrange game propels Pirates

BIG MEN ON CAMPUS: Riley Brown, with ball, and Jeremiah Larson, had some battles in the post, but points in the paint were hard to come by at times for both teams.

Before Bickleton's boys basketball team took the court against Klickitat-Glenwood on Friday night in Klickitat, Pirates head coach Bill Daley told me his team had a good midrange inside out game.

For many teams across all levels of basketball, the midrange game seems to be a dying breed as a lot of teams are just trying to score inside the paint or beyond the 3-point line. But in Bickleton's first Greater Columbia Gorge League road contest against the Vandals, the Pirates ran their offense to perfection in a closely contested third quarter to pull away in their 55-41 win.
