Help spread word on mental health

In the past two years the Klickitat and Lyle Against Substance Abuse Coalition (KLASAC) has trained 86 people in Youth Mental Health First Aid in Klickitat County! Their goal is to break 100 this year and be part of the national movement to train a million people in this nationally recognized model! To learn more about the 1 in a million campaign go to www. mentalhealthfirstaid.org. To register for this course contact Rita Pinchot at klasaccoordinator@gmail. com or by phone at (360) 952-3569. And along those lines; they have a part time, temporary position open, which is a 15 hour a week Administrative Assistant position, starting Feb. 1 and ending June 30. Help get the word out by sharing the attached Job Description with anyone you may know that would be interested and who would have administrative/office skills and is a ‘people person’. There is a generic Job Description from the ESD as well as the coalition job announcement with coalition specific details. The ever-sought- after Bi-lingual and/or bi-cultural applicants are encouraged to apply. Log on https://www. governmentjobs. com/careers/ esd112/jobs/1421960/temporary-employment for an application, which will go through the ESD 112, although KLASAC will work with them to select the best applicant for this position. If you or someone you

know is applying, please notify Rita so she can give the HR department a heads up to watch for the application. Last week I sent in the wrong week’s column. Luckily it was caught in time for The Sentinel but not the Enterprise which has graciously attached it to this week’s entry. Anyway, I mentioned starting a website for the Lyle Proper area and invited you to respond and perhaps expand the area to include your residence, if interested. This may be a way to get personal needs filled, such as that driveway snow plowed or later this spring your yard work done? Perhaps you need to rant or just visit, it’s a good place to express your desires… by joining the website you can fulfill that need and perhaps meet other neighbors you might not have. If you are interested try; Lyle. nextdoor.com and become a member. The biggest news these days is about the weather and I for one am ready for spring’s rain and sunshine. It’s going to take some doing to melt all the piled up mounds that have been reassigned to less traveled areas but I guess that way we can either look forward to the drought subsiding or the dreaded overflowing of creeks and drainage ditches along the roadways. Maybe we just might send an accumulated prayer to have it melt off slowly for everyone’s benefit.
