Accident near school

A Goldendale Middle School student was injured in a car accident this morning, but is reported to be in stable condition at KVH. According to Goldendale School Superintendent Mark Heid, the accident occurred at about 8:00 a.m. right outside the school. A parent pulled up to drop off her daughter; as the mother began to drive away, the daughter slipped on some ice and slid under the vehicle, pinning her left thigh beneath the rear tire.

As of 10:25 a.m., Heid reports the student is being treated for bleeding and bruising of the injured leg, but no broken bones. He credits the mother with being alert and braking promptly, limiting the injury. “She was paying attention—that’s what sav...
