Bickleton girls lose Molina, down to five girls


As if it wasn’t hard enough to play with six players, things got a lot tougher for the Bickleton Pirates girls basketball team after freshman forward Rosy Molina was deemed ineligible, leaving the team with just five players.

Not having Molina, the team’s only post player, really affected how the team played in losses to Trout Lake (36-26) and Sunnyside Christian (72-15) last Friday and Saturday respectively.

“Not having her (Rosy) affected us immensely,” Bickleton head coach Teresa Gannon said.

As the team’s lone post and tallest girl, Molina was counted on to grab rebounds and lock down the paint defensively, but without her, Gannon said she’s teaching all five of her play...
