Goldendale basketball senior night spoiled by Spartans

Wolves hang tough early, but No. 3 Granger too muc

Goldendale head girls hoops coach Mike Plum knew he would be without senior forward Ocean Bryan for Friday's senior night matchup against the No. 3 ranked Granger Spartans.

He also knew the Spartans, ranked as the top team in the South Central Athletic Conference and No. 3 statewide among class 1A teams based on the WIAA RPI rankings, would come ready to play.

With just one loss all year, the Spartans (12-0 SCAC, 19-1 overall) have been a tough matchup with anyone, but without Bryan, it seemed like an unsurmountable task for the Timberwolves.

However, Goldendale played neck-and-neck with the road team for the majority of the first half before the Spartans unleashed a barrage from beyon...
