Inspired offerings: Anna Bean holds an inspirational plaque behind the counter of the K-C Pharmacy gift store. The store will now be featuring a line of Christian gifts.

Goldendale residents lamenting the closure of Adonai's Christian Bookstore can turn that frown upside down. K-C Pharmacy will now be offering a line of inspirational gifts supplied by Adonai's former owner, Peggy Woodard.

Woodard, who closed her business Jan. 21, left a note at K-C to see if they wanted to buy her greeting card stock. A few days later, K-C merchandiser Anna Bean came by and bought all the greeting cards and displays, as well as some wall plaques and other gift items. A further arrangement established Woodard as K-C's sales rep for a line of inspirational products from Integriteam, a national sales and marketing company she worked with at Adonai's.

"I was fretting," Woodard said of the closure, "but God had it under control all the time. I'm just happy people can still buy Christian gifts in Goldendale."

Bean says the product line, which includes personal accessories, home décor and journaling books-all with an uplifting theme-is a good fit for K-C.

"This is a pharmacy; people come in sick," Bean said. Now the pharmacy can offer "healing emotionally as well as physically."

Some items, including card displays and wall plaques, are already in the store. Bean hopes to have the entire line available by Easter.
