Childhood sexual abuse survivor and activist Erin Merryn to testify Thursday on a bill to establish an Erin's Law task force in Washington

On Thursday, Erin Merryn, a childhood sexual abuse survivor and Erin’s Law’s namesake, will testify in favor of a bill that would establish a work group tasked with creating age-appropriate sexual-abuse prevention curriculum for grades K-12. House Bill 1539, referred to as Erin’s Law, is sponsored by Rep. Gina McCabe, R-Goldendale.

The public hearing will take place at 8 a.m. Thursday, March 23, during the House Education Committee.

Merryn has worked throughout the nation to implement measures to study and develop sexual-abuse identification and prevention curriculum in grades pre-K through 12. Her efforts have led her to appear on CNN, Good Morning America, The Oprah Winfrey Show,...
