Local annual youth hoops tourney a big draw

Nineteen teams from five cities and Goldendale and nearly 200 young athletes turned out for the fifth annual Columbia Hills Classic on Saturday at Goldendale Middle and High Schools, and it was a huge success and an all-around fun and full day of basketball, according to coordinator Konrad Bomberger.

The 19 teams included boys and girls squads and even some coed teams that were split into three age divisions (third and fourth grade, fifth and sixth grade and seventh and eighth grade) while each team played three games against the others in its division.
