Goldendale students sweep TSA awards

A pair of Goldendale students took top prizes at the Washington Technology Student Association (TSA) State conference held March 16 – 18 at the Yakima Convention Center.

The TSA serves more than 6,000 students around the state, and this conference was the largest ever, with 800 students and more than 100 advisors. The students competed in 64 events over the three day period, with each student competing in a maximum of six events.

The Goldendale middle school team of Thea Smith and Emma Olson came out on top, winning the state championship in the Catapult Design competition against 27 other teams. Smith was also a finalist in the Career Prep event.
