School musical marks new course

Last Friday, friends and family gathered in the Goldendale Middle School cafeteria to watch a student performance of Willy Wonka Jr.¸ a musical based on Roald Dahl's classic children's book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The story follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka, played by GMS student Kaitelynn Wageman, who stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. The children who find the tickets win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of chocolate. One of the winning children is Charlie Bucket, played by Jaeden Anderson, who is distinguished by his humble upbringing and good character-qualities that help him avoid...
