Cougs win once in Gdale, swept at home

It had been quite some time since the Cougars had knocked off Goldendale on the baseball diamond, but that's what the combined team of Lyle, Wishram and Klickitat did last Tuesday in Goldendale as they split a nonleague doubleheader at Jackson Field.

Behind a strong performance and a tough fastball from starter Troy Spino, the Cougars held off a late Goldendale rally for a 7-4 win in the opener before the Timberwolves bounced back to take the nightcap 9-3.

After splitting with Goldendale, the Cougs were back at home on Saturday where they were swept in a doubleheader by Tri Cities Prep (13-2 in both games) in their Eastern Washington Athletic Conference openers at home in Lyle, dropping...
