Zillah pitching too tough in sweep of Wolves

BISCHOFF'S BLAST: The Timberwolves mob junior Jacob Bischoff (4) after his solo home run cleared the center field fence in the bottom of the second inning against Zillah on Saturday at Jackson Field.

The Goldendale baseball team faced a tough task when the South Central Athletic Conference leading Zillah Leopards visited for a Saturday afternoon doubleheader, but the task got even harder after game one's starting pitcher Alex Mains took a line drive off the upper leg in the top of the third inning.

Deadlocked at one to begin the inning, Mains allowed a pair of walks before taking the hard liner off his leg but was still able to get the out at first while a run also scored. He was shaken, but remained in the game to throw a scoreless fourth inning.

He exited the game after tossing four innings, allowing two runs and striking out three with Goldendale trailing 2-1.
