Agency threatens end to city food bank contract


Today, the board of the Goldendale Foodbank (GFB) will meet to consider a response to a notice of contract termination from Washington Gorge Action Programs (WGAP).

WGAP, a non-profit human service organization, acts as distributor for various regional food-assistance agencies. According to the notice, dated May 9, WGAP administrators observed issues that fell short of the organization’s standards during a March 20 visit to GFB.

Combined with client feedback, those issues led to a March 30 meeting between WGAP and GFB board members. To maintain its contract with WGAP, GFB was required to submit a plan of action by May 29, detailing their efforts toward compliance.
