Pioneer Days a big success


If this Lyle Pioneer Days is any implication that future ones will be a success, the group that organized it this year can rest assured that its revival is a triumph. Sheriff Bob Songer’s siren declared the kickoff parade down Main Street, followed by daredevil James A. Smith, who drove a car on two wheels with a fearless lady standing on its high side, waving the American Flag. (I hear Randal Robison was used as ballast) This year’s Grand Marshall, Barbara (Hamm) Sexton wore a traditional pioneer dress and rode in a convertible.
