Six set PRs, Rising leads Gdale boys at state

STRONG FINISH: Junior Allison Gilliam sprints to the finish after taking the baton from Ocean Bryan in the 4x100 preliminary relay on Friday.

Six Goldendale athletes set personal records in at least one event while junior Dillon Rising cruised to a pair of top-six finishes in two long distance running events while garnering seven of the team's eight team points as the Timberwolves finished in a four-way tie for 24th place over the weekend at the WIAA Track and Field State Championship Meet in Cheney.

Competing in the Inferno, the football field at Eastern Washington University that's covered in red turf, four Goldendale boys and two girls scorched their previous personal-best times and left the state meet with their best showings all year.
