Robert H. Curtis


Robert Herman Curtis passed away on May 3, 2017 in Bellevue, Washington, at the age of 80.

Bob was born to Glenn and Jewel Curtis and grew up in Goldendale. After graduating second in the Goldendale High School class of 1955, he earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Stanford in 1959 and went on to Purdue’s School of Industrial Management for a master’s degree. Except for a few years at Sylvania Reconnaissance Systems in Mountain View, California, Bob spent most of his career at Boeing working in the Engineering Department of Commercial Airplanes on the 747, 767, 737, and 757 programs doing schedules, budgets, estimating, and cost management. He retired in 1995. Bob also worked part-time at H&R Block in tax preparation until recently and gave back to the community by volunteering as a tax preparer. Bob was a faithful member of Alcoholics Anonymous and impacted many lives through his encouragement and example.

Bob is lovingly remembered by his sisters Betty Cameron and Gloria Alexander, children Christina Beals and Eric Curtis, son-in-law Gary Beals, granddaughters Kimberly Beals and Melissa Beals, and many friends.
